Watch the movie Glengarry Glen Ross for a particularly graphic example of failure shaming

by Alec Baldwin in his rant to the salesmen. This movie is a great depiction of the toxic and pathetic core values that define single-minded "hooray for me" American capitalism. I believe in the free market model, but this movie shows what happens when its dark "win at any cost" side is allowed to completely take hold. It is not pretty.
