Mayberry had to be the only southern town in history with no Blacks. I would love to see a remake of the series with a Black set of characters written in. I am guessing that Barny would be active in the local Klan and Aunt Bee would be a strong supporter of Strom Thurmond. And I wouldn't be surprised if Opie had a secret Black half brother who lived across the tracks in the Black side of town.
